SCROLL DOWN TO SEE WHAT MCKENZIE IS DOING THIS YEAR!

3.14.08-First Comp of the season.

This year McKenzie is competing in the Novice ladies division and dispite not executing the performance she had hoped she still ended up taking home the pewter medal. She landed her 2a in the warm up and was really happy with some of the positives in her program. The judges were very good at giving critiques and she can only hope to improve from here on out!.

12/15- McKenzie has been doing very well in the off season. She just started working with her new coreographer Scott Brown who she likes alot. This upcoming season McKenzie will be competing in the Novice Ladies division. So far in the off season she has gotten her double axel consistant and has started landing her triple sal. just recently. She is also working on Triple Toe now and is always trying to improve her combination jumps.

7/1-10/21 Its been a long time since I have updated the site but now I am going to share alot. Since Broadmoor Open we made the switch in coaches to Cindy Sullivan. It was tough but since the change has been amazing. When we first switched it was very tough we changed my jump technique, worked on improving my basic skating skills and totaly re did my programs. Our first test was coming quick and we thought it might be interesting it had been a month or less with my new coach and I was set to compete at Colorado Championships I was nervous and not expecting much. I skated a clean program. I have never done that before so right there was an exciting ordeal. When the results came up I was 2nd!!! if you look at my results thats not a thing that happens much usually I end up in the bottom. This meant that i would move on to the final rounds. I still had to skate my short program only i placed second there as well. Then in finals i skated 2 more clean programs and ended up 4th overall in Intermediate Ladies with some of the top skaters in the state. My next test was Cup of Colorado I was only skating my long but once again I skated a clean program. About the week of championships I landed my double axel and it was going very well. Then my last competition before Regionals was CSI. I skated a clean program and ended up 3rd in short and 2nd in long. Then we were off to Dallas my double axel was in my program and landing it well once we arrived it was doing well but i wasn't sure about the double axel so I decided not to do it I skated clean and got 4th in qualifying that meant finals!!!! I skated my short program round and placed 5th i was still in the running. I then skated my long program final and skated clean but did too many toe jumps so I lost 7 points on my 3 jump combo placing me in 15th place. I was sad but overall very excited in 4 months with a new coach new jumps new programs and a fresh start to make it all the way to finals at regionals and be in the top 16 in the region. This has been a great experience and now everyone knows who I am its great.
7/1 McKenzie and her parents decide to make a change in coaches to Cindy Sullivan. This was a hard decision but we decided to become a better skater this was neccesary. Cindy Sullivan is the skating director at the Ice Centre in Westminster, CO. She has coached many of the top skaters to nationals and Junior nationals.
