Biography                       

Hey I'm McKenzie Pedersen I am a competitive Figure skater at the Intermediate Level. I began skating at the age of 7 1/2 years old. I started in the USFSA (United States Figure skating assosiation) Learn To Skate program. I moved through the levels very fast and was looked at as a natural skater. Shortly after I got a private coach . I moved through levels at a quick pase.In 3 years I learned my basic moves and single jumps and two double jumps. About 1 year later I started working on more of my double jumps and soon got a few of them. In 2006 I started to land all my double jumps farley consistant and now can do them as well as double double combinations consistantly.I am currently working on perfecting my double axel and working on my triple jumps. So far this season I have medaled at all my competitions in the Intermediate Ladies Division.My long term goal for the year is to make the 2008 U.S. Junior National team and move to novice to compete internationaly in the '08-'09 season. My summer goal is to have a consistant double axel, triple sal., and triple toe. By the end of the year I would like to be working on triple loop and triple flip as well as test my novice moves and freeskate test.

My daily schedule consists of waking up at 6 am to go to school. I am currently going to Oberon Middle School and am in 2 honors classes with a 4.0 GPA my whole middle school career.I then go to school from 7:30-1:30. After school my Mom picks me up and takes me to the rink to skate 2-3 hours with my coaches. I skate at two rinks the Ice Centre in Westminster, CO and Apex Ice Center in Arvada,CO. I am part of the Rocky Mountain FSC and just love it.

My family is very loving and supportive of my skating. I have two younger siblings Jack and Hannah they give up alot so I am able to skate and reach my goals. Jack is 12 years old as well as Hannah, they both play competitive sports and like to go on trips. My Mom and Dad have also been the biggest support and best in helping me reach my goals, they try as hard as they can to get my were I want to be. My Mom makes all of my skating dresses as well as for other skaters. My grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins are also a big support with my skating and I thank each and everyone of them.
